The off-leash requirement is the big one
The Park District has been clear: every dog at the new park must demonstrate off-leash capability. That isn't a suggestion. If your dog can't recall under distraction, ignore other dogs when you ask, or hold a stay while you walk through the gate, opening day is going to be stressful for both of you.
The good news: this is exactly the work Ray does. Three Dog Roar services map directly to the off-leash requirement.
Off-leash control
Radius Training
The literal off-leash skill. Your dog stays inside a 30 to 50 foot perimeter without a leash, no matter what's around.

Socialization
Confidence and focus around other dogs. Your dog ignores distractions and stays connected with you, which is what makes a busy dog park calm instead of chaotic.

Behavior Modification
If your dog is leash-reactive, fearful, or guarding, the dog park is the worst place to find out. We rebuild the foundation first so opening day is fun, not a fight.

Register through the Community Center.
The Park District requires every dog to be registered through the Community Center before using the park. Get in line early; opening week will see a backlog.
Confirm vaccinations are current.
Rabies, distemper, parvo, bordetella at minimum. Bring documentation. If you don't have a vet relationship yet, set one up now, not the week before opening.
Build real off-leash control.
Recall under distraction, automatic check-ins, sit-stay through the gate, leave-it on command. If any of those make you nervous, you have a few months to fix it.
Practice the social skills.
A dog that's never been around a pack will be overwhelmed on opening day. Group classes or structured socialization are the path.
Same street, same neighborhood
